Our Hemp & Algae Face Cream contains no added fragrance or essential oils, just the gentle scent of the botanical ingredients in the formula.⁠ ⁠

We preserve our products using a clever combination of probiotic-based ingredients that are created via fermentation using Lactobacillus.

Star Ingredients

At Whitfords, we use efficacious botanical ingredients that are gentle on sensitive skin. We prioritise sustainable ingredients that are organic, a waste by-product of other clean companies (such as strawberry seed oil), obtained via fermentation processes or are lab-grown (like micro-algae).

Hemp Oil Liposome: encapsulated into liposomes for enhanced, targeted delivery and effective soothing benefits.

Green Algae: Micro algae, such as Chlamydomonas Reinhardtii, is a great example of a natural and sustainable resource with unique properties that can be grown in the lab under defined high UV conditions and used to address damaged skin and prevent further damage. It leaves the skin feeling plumped and hydrated and defends it against pollutants.

Ectoin®natural: protects the skin from allergens, air pollution, dryness and UV light and helps minimise the appearance of wrinkles.

Salicylic Acid from White Willow Bark: It helps the skin defend itself agains microorganisms that can cause acne, it keeps pores clear to avoid the formation of blackheads and bumps and it provides antioxidant protection and calming effect without the associated irritation that synthetic salicylic acid can cause. ⁠

Vegan Friendly & Cruelty-Free

All our botanical ingredients are vegan-friendly and we are proud to be approved as cruelty-free under the Leaping Bunny Programme, the best global cruelty-free assurance.

100% Petroleum-free Skincare

Petroleum is not renewable, therefore not sustainable. This includes mineral oil, PEGs (polyethylene glycols), SLS/SLES (sodium lauryl sulfate / sodium laureth sulfate) and parabens. Thousands of plant-derived cosmetic ingredients exist, and there is absolutely no good reason to incorporate petroleum into our skincare routines.

Palm-Free

We use either alternatives to palm-oil or Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) certified derivatives that have not been farmed through deforestation. At present, all our products are palm-free, with the exception of our Fruit AHAs Exfoliating Mask which contains a very small percentage of a RSPO certified palm derivative.

Our London studio was designed and built in-house and all our products are made there: we don’t use external manufacturers. It even has a green roof to catch all rain water!
