Star Ingredients

At Whitfords, we use efficacious renewable ingredients that are gentle on sensitive skin. We prioritise ingredients that are organic, upcycled – such as strawberry seed oil and papaya enzymes – obtained via fermentation processes or are lab-grown (like micro-algae).

Centella Asiatica: commonly known as Gotu Kola, promotes collagen production, crucial for preserving skin’s elasticity and smoothness, and strengthens the skin’s barrier, enhancing moisture retention and giving the skin a fuller look. Its natural anti-inflammatory properties also make it ideal for soothing stressed skin, promoting skin vitality and a radiant complexion.

Kakadu Plum Extract: exceptionally rich in vitamin C, this native Australian fruit extract offers potent antioxidant benefits for the skin. It helps protect against environmental stressors, brightens the complexion, and supports collagen production.

Allantoin: A powerhouse ingredient with a remarkable ability to promote skin healing, soothe irritation, and provide long-lasting hydration. We use high-purity, nature-identical allantoin to avoid the risks of contamination with pyrrolizidine alkaloids found in comfrey-derived allantoin, ensuring a safe and consistent ingredient for sensitive skin formulations. This method is also more sustainable, as producing allantoin from comfrey requires significant plant material and agricultural resources.

Microbiome Power Trio:

• Lactobacillus Ferment: A probiotic-based ingredient that protects the skin against harmful bacteria, leading to healthier-looking skin that can effectively keep moisture in and pathogens out.
• Lactobacillus/Salix Alba Bark Ferment Filtrate: It has soothing effects and supports the skin’s natural defences, including a healthy microbiome.
• Leuconostoc/Radish Root Ferment Filtrate: a natural preservative, it has antimicrobial properties to help protect the skin’s natural microbial community.

No harsh preservatives, synthetic fragrances or essential oils, making it ideal for sensitive skin. We let the subtle, naturally occurring scent of the botanicals in the formula take centre stage.

Instructions

Take a small amount and apply to dry skin. Notice its sticky and stringy texture? That’s by design, allowing it to cling tightly to and draw out impurities from your pores. Enhance this cleansing action by gently pressing and lifting your fingers for a few seconds. Splash a bit of water on your face to see it turn into a creamy, milky texture.Wash off with warm water and gently pat your skin dry.

This formula uses high-quality, renewable ingredients in a process that uses heat minimally and for only a brief period, ensuring the integrity and efficacy of active components are preserved. We use advanced sugar-derived emulsifiers to achieve a luxurious, stable texture.

Our packaging is 100% plastic-free. You won’t find a small plastic cap, insert, label, lid or dropper. When we say no plastic, we mean it. Our aluminium containers are reusable and endlessly recyclable.

Vegan Friendly & Cruelty-Free

All our botanical ingredients are vegan-friendly and cruelty-free.

100% Petroleum-free Skincare

Petroleum is not renewable, therefore not sustainable. This includes mineral oil, PEGs (polyethylene glycols), SLS/SLES (sodium lauryl sulfate / sodium laureth sulfate) and parabens. Thousands of plant-derived cosmetic ingredients exist, and there is absolutely no good reason to incorporate petroleum into our skincare routines.

Palm Policy

We use either alternatives to palm-oil or Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) certified derivatives that have not been farmed through deforestation. At present, all our products are palm-free, with the exception of our Fruit AHAs Exfoliating Mask and our Centella Elasticity Daily Cleanser which contain a very small percentage of a RSPO certified palm derivative.

Whitfords Studio

Our London studio was designed and built in-house and all our products are made there: we don’t use external manufacturers. It even has a green roof to catch all rain water! The electricity used is 100% certified renewable and UK generated, adding to the goal of conserving resources whenever possible.
